Each practice's own website was checked for medical aesthetic services and a named clinician or medical oversight, and a reviewed photo of the current location was required. Surgical-only practices, IV-only lounges, day spas, salons and esthetician-only studios were excluded. The cohort averages a 4.8 Google rating, with 8 practices holding a 5.0 rating. Listings are ordered using confidence-weighted ratings that balance star rating against review volume. No practice paid for placement on this register.

According to Google neighborhood designations, South Kansas City holds the most, with four: ReVive RX Med Spa, treat. SKIN & BODY, AesthetiCare Medspa + Wellness, and Hollyday Med Spa + Aesthetics. Missouri's State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts licenses physicians, and in the board pages, statutes and rule reviewed here none names Botox, neurotoxins or cosmetic injections. RSMo 334.010, a statute, makes it unlawful for anyone who is not a registered physician to practice medicine or surgery in Missouri, except as provided. RSMo 334.104, also a statute, lets a physician enter written collaborative practice arrangements with registered professional nurses, which may delegate authority to administer or dispense drugs and provide treatment within the nurse's scope of practice and consistent with the nurse's skill, training and competence. RSMo 334.735 says a physician assistant may perform other tasks not prohibited by law under a collaborative practice arrangement with a licensed physician that the physician assistant has been trained and is proficient to perform. The Class E esthetician definition in RSMo 329.010 lists massaging, cleansing, stimulating and similar work and does not mention injections.

Missouri's MOPRO licensee search says its data constitutes a primary source verification of licensure and is updated nightly. The same page says the Board of Nursing does not use this search and points to Nursys Licensure Quick Confirm for nurses.
